EQUINE COMMUNICATION THROUGH HEART AND SOUL

   As part of  his Equine Communication Through Heart & Soul business, Damon has conducted demonstrations, seminars, clinics, and workshops throughout Australia and the United States.  He travels broadly within Tasmania, working on difficult horses, starting young horses, and facilitating communication between horse and human.

Damon specializes in these areas:

Foal Imprinting 
Establishing a harmony between the new born foal and the human
Yearling Management 
Gentle introduction to general handling, including catching, leading, handling legs safely and establishing trust.
Starting of Horses 
Saddled for the first time, ridden and educated to the required level, focusing on a willing response

Understanding the breeding instinct and developing respectful, responsive behaviour in your stallion
The Frightened Horse 
Overcoming fears by gaining the horse’s respect and confidence; understanding the flight response and developing the horse’s emotional side

Using the dynamics of a round yard to enhance focus and to redirect energy in the horse to a place of fulfilment.
Float Loading 
Asking the horse to walk in, stand, travel and unload in a calm and relax manner

Modifying Undesirable Behavior 
Looking at the whole horse and his natural communication system to address such problems as:  hard to catch, head tossing, rearing, bucking, kicking, running away with the rider, refusing obstacles and a general lack of manners.

Riding with focus and balance. Understanding your riding cues and how the horse interprets them. Knowing when to support and when to put on hold.

Advice on how to keep your horse healthy and happy.

Riding with focus and balance, responding to the bit quietly and consistently, lateral and vertical flexion exercises, collecting your horse physically, mentally and emotionally.
Correct Saddle Fit 
How does your saddle affect your horse’s skeleton and muscles?  Incorrect saddle fit can cause lameness and behavior problems.
